interactive wizard
The TUI wizard
When you run devopsgen init in a real terminal without a flags-only invocation, a keyboard-driven wizard takes over — Enter accepts the recommended default at every step.

How the interview flows
- Stack —
goornodejs, pre-selected by the detector. - Application type (Node.js only) — express, nextjs, vite, nestjs or generic.
- Commands — optional build / test / start commands; Enter keeps the defaults harvested from the project files.
- Port — the application port, 1–65535, validated on the spot.
- Registry — Docker Hub or GHCR (same as the
--registryflag). - Container image —
namespace/repository, no host, no tag. - Kubernetes — whether to emit manifests, plus an optional host-based Ingress (RFC 1123 hostname).
- Summary & confirm — review every chosen value, confirm, and the files are written to the project root.
A wizard run is fully replayable: the same answers as equivalent flags. To automate the same result, pass the flags headless (init reference).
Keyboard
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Enter | Confirm current selection / printed default |
| ↑ ↓ | Move within list choices |
| typed text | Fill textual answers (port, image, host) |
| Ctrl+C | Abort the wizard without writing anything |
Safety during the run
Everything until the final confirmation is bound to memory only — aborting leaves the project untouched. The write itself follows the same rules as headless mode: never-overwrite-unless---force, backups, and rollback on mid-run failure.
